ANNUAL EVENTS

APRIL 30th, 5:00 pm - Coal Miner's Ball

The Coal Miner's Ball is an annual event that honors the old-timers who worked or provided goods and services for the coal mines in Sutton and Chickaloon.  Members of the Alpine Historical Society will conduct interviews and each year new honorees are inducted into the Old Timer’s Hall of Fame and their photo and biography are added to the permanent display at the Alpine Historical Park. 

JUNE 26th, 2011- 1-4pm - Sutton Community Picnic

 The Alpine Historical Society hosts and annual community picnic at the Alpine Historical Park in Sutton.  Old Timers and community members gather at the park to enjoy the warm summer days, the park, and community camaraderie. AHS will provide the hamburgers, hotdogs, condiments and juice. We ask everyone else to bring a potluck dish, chips, or dessert.  There will be a dessert and silent auction as well as live music.

JULY 31st, 2011- 1-4 pm-  49th State Street Rodders Valley Trash Show and Shine

 The Alpine Historical Society in conjunction with the 49th State Street Rodders hosts The Valley Trash Show and Shine Car Show.  This is a family friendly event designed to celebrate the summer and check out or show off some very cool cars.  Prized include but are not limited to Best Classic, Best Sports Car and Trashy Car!  The public is invited to enter their "Trashy Vehicle" and compete for a prize against the 49th State Street Rodders.  This is an annual fundraiser.  There will be burgers and snacks, spilt the pot and an auction!
